Limac

In the centre of the city of Dnipro, in collaboration with the Turkish company “Limak”, our company is carrying out works on the construction of the SECOND line of the Dnipro underground. In 2021, drilling and blasting of four vertical shafts with a depth of up to 76 meters were completed. Currently we’re carrying out drilling and permanent finishing of main line tunnels with a total length of about 8,000 running meters with an excavation volume of more than 250 thousand m3. Holes are drilled with Epiroc drill carriages. Gathering of rock mass is provided with Caterpillar loaders. Temporary fastening is carried out with reinforced concrete anchors 3 m long and a metal mesh, followed by the application of shotcrete up to 10 cm thick. After the tunnels are fully drilled, waterproofing will be carried out, and reinforced concrete fasteners will be used as a permanent finish. In 2021 drilling and blasting began at 3 underground stations with a total excavation volume of more than 230 thousand m3. The cross section of one station is about 300m2 and 260m long. Works are also underway on driving inclined passages for escalators with an inclination angle of 30 degrees. All blasting operations are accompanied by seismic monitoring, since the distance from shafts to residential buildings is no more than 30 m, and tunnelling and stations are driven directly under the roadway.
